Starting school

Starting Nursery or Reception is an exciting and challenging time for children and parents/carers. The aim of this booklet is to provide a useful guide towards making this an enjoyable and positive experience for everyone.

We understand that parents/carers are the first teachers of their children and we hope to work in close partnership with you. When parents/carers and staff work together, the results have a very positive impact on the child’s development and learning. We are always available to talk to you about your child. Please do not hesitate to share any of your child’s skills or any worries you may have.

The staff in Ash Class are very well-trained, highly skilled and experienced in working with young children. We feel that all our children are very special. We try to encourage them and work with them to help them grow in every way.
